arcattackandClaude Opus 4.8 5f115eca19 Issue #22: respawn resets ammo + repairs weapons (the +0x28 mislabel)
ROOT CAUSE [T1]: Mech::Reset's subsystem sweep (@0049fb74 loop-2) calls
vtable slot +0x28, which the DATA-section vtables prove is
ResetToInitialState (0050f9d8/00511d2c/00512078/0051242c all carry the
class RTIS at +0x28) -- our reconstruction mislabeled it DeathReset,
the EMPTY engine base virtual, so the whole per-subsystem reset was a
silent no-op ("ammo and weapons do not reset on respawn", playtest
night; matchlogs: 3 of 7 players fired zero projectiles after their
first death).

SECOND LAYER: the binary never refilled ammo at all -- its respawn
severed the vehicle and DropZoneReply built a NEW mech (fresh ctor =
full bins, pristine subsystems: the pod behavior testers remember).
Our port deliberately reuses the entity (the new-mech path was the
two-mech/camera-glitch family), so Reset now EMULATES ctor-freshness:

- the sweep starts at i=2 (binary-faithful: skips mapper + voltage
  bus) and dispatches the engine DeathReset virtual as the vehicle;
  per-class overrides chain each class's own authentic slot-10 RTIS
  body (the recon RTIS namesakes are statically bound -- no common
  virtual): MechWeapon @004b96ec, Emitter @004ba4d0 (charge cycle
  restarts from Loading), ProjectileWeapon @004bbaf8 (unjams).
- MechSubsystem::RespawnRepair (PORT): heals the subsystem's PRIVATE
  crit damage zone + status alarm -- the mech-zone heal never touched
  those, which kept destroyed weapons dead across respawns.
- AmmoBin::DeathReset (PORT): refills to initialAmmoCount (@0x220, the
  ctor value) + Loaded alarm + idle feed + cook-off disarmed;
  ResetToInitialState stays authentically EMPTY per AMMOBIN.TCP.

Verified (2-node force-damage kill/respawn rig, BT_DEATH_LOG): every
respawn logs [respawn] ammo bin refills for both bins to streamed
capacity across 4 death cycles; mission un-regressed. KB corrected +
swept (multiplayer.md task #52 notes). Awaiting live tester
verification of depleted-bin refill + revived weapons.

arcattackandClaude Fable 5 2edde29671 Fix 1 (Gitea #12): disasm-exact ProjectileWeaponSimulation @004bbd04 + the dirty-bit sweep
Replace the RivetGun-modeled ProjectileWeaponSimulation body with the fully
recovered binary machine (capstone disasm, every branch address-cited):

- gate 1 @4bbd36: simulationState@0x40==1 (destroyed) || heatAlarm==FailureHeat
  || owner disabled -> recoil=rechargeRate + alarm 7 (was: simulationFlags==1)
- gate 2 @4bbd71: bin alarm 2/3 or bin destroyed -> alarm 7 re-pinned per frame
- Loaded @4bbec2: DENIED shots (viewFireEnable off / no owner target) blip
  SetLevel(4);SetLevel(2) and STAY LOADED, no ammo pull (the old FireWeapon
  early-returns under an unconditionally-cycling caller faked a full firing
  pip cycle -- the "missiles cycle but never launch" incident mechanic);
  the ammo pull is bin->FeedAmmo @4bbee6 in the CALLER; both updateModel|=1
  marks (@4bbf05/@4bbf4c = ForceUpdate) bracket FireWeapon; recoil set @4bbf51
- Loading @4bbdd2: recoil bleeds ONLY here at electrical Ready and CLAMPS at 0
  (it ran to -114 before); bin Loaded -> weapon Loaded
- 7 @4bbe4d: binary-faithful roach motel (re-asserted unconditionally;
  recovery = ResetToInitialState only)
- slot 17 @004b9c9c reconstructed as MechWeapon::ComputeOutputVoltage
  (rechargeLevel=(rechargeRate-recoil)/rechargeRate, Emitter overrides with
  @4ba738) and called from Loading/7 -- the launcher recharge dial ANIMATES
  (the old "authentically static" claim was wrong)

FireWeapon bodies stripped to heat+spawn only per @004bcc60 (no view gate, no
ConsumeRound, no recoil); ConsumeRound retired (not a binary method).

Gotcha #20 sweep (all sites disasm-verified): simulationFlags|=0x1 == engine
DelayWatchersFlag (audio watchers muted forever) removed everywhere --
projweap/mislanch fire marks, ProjectileWeapon::ResetToInitialState (@4bbb47
= updateModel|=1); Emitter::SetDirty retired and split per binary site into
ForceUpdate() (@4bafaa/@4ba55d) vs ExecuteOnUpdate() (@4ba99a/@4ba943);
Emitter fault gate GetFlags()==1 -> simulationState==1 (@4baab9).

AmmoBin::GetAmmoState() accessor added (named-member read of ammoAlarm@0x1A8).
BT_LOOK_TEST=<frame> scripted verify added (mech4.cpp): holds the rear-view
button 300f on/300f off to drive viewFireEnable headlessly.

Verified solo ARENA1 (bhk1, autofire): 54-60 [projectile] PUSH + impact smoke;
look-back denial window = trigger pulses, state stays 2, zero launches,
resumes on release; enemy (disabled) mech launchers pinned 7 + full recoil;
STREAK-6 recharge dial sweeps across BT_SHOT frames; lasers fire throughout;
zero gauge faults.

arcattackandClaude Fable 5 63b168cb92 SeekVoltageGraph: full reconstruction -- the eng-page POWER graph + top-box eraser (Gitea #11)
The #10 audit's one WRONG: the port Execute was a bring-up no-op, so the
emitter/myomer engineering pages never erased their top data box -> stale
sibling-page ghosts on the shared Eng bit-plane (SYSTEM 10 PPC showing the
Streak ammo box, etc). Full faithful widget landed:

- btl4gau2: ctor/BecameActive/Execute/clear/ticks/cursor recovered from the
  capstone disasm of @004c6798/@004c6920/@004c6934/@004c6be4/@004c6c30/
  @004c6c6c (Ghidra dropped every x87 arg). Plot: v=0..12000 step 1200,
  x=Round(response(v)*230), y=Round(v*(1/12000)*187) (ld80 @004c6bd0/@004c6d74
  = exactly 1/12000); change-test samples the response at 12000V vs the 9999
  activation sentinel; XOR op for tick/cursor move-by-redraw; destroyed branch
  centres edestryd.pcc and revives via own vtbl+0xC (BecameActive, slot 3 of
  PTR_0051a1fc -- vtable-dump verified).
- The vtbl+0x3C sampler identified from the binary vtables: Emitter slot 15
  @004bb42c = sqrt(P(v)/2.0e8), P @004bb3f4 = damageFraction*v^2*0.5*
  energyCoefficient; Myomers slot 15 @004b8f94 = sqrt(AvailableOutput(v)*3.6/
  350).  FUN_004dd138 == sqrt (part_015.c:4026): myomers' fabs reading
  corrected, GetSpeedReading renamed SeekVoltageResponse. Port dispatch via
  complete-type bridges BTSeekVoltageSample/BTMyomersSeekSample +
  BTSubsystemDestroyed (databinding rule).
- Emitter's AUTHENTIC attribute table recovered (binary @0x511dd4, ids
  0x1D-0x25) and published: Laser*/Seek*/OutputVoltage@0x414 (currentLevel,
  RAW volts -- the live-cursor feed). Field renames per the table:
  0x3F8 minSeekVoltageIndex / 0x3FC maxSeekVoltageIndex (static_assert-locked).
  The MechWeapon 0x1D OutputVoltage PORT ALIAS retired (binary table ends
  0x1C; Find walks lowest-id-first, the alias shadowed the authentic row).
  PPC::DefaultData -> Emitter::GetAttributeIndex().
- mech4: BT_PRESET_HOLD=<n> (freeze the #9 preset cycler after n pulses) for
  steady-state pixel verification; BT_SEEK_LOG diag.

Verified live (BLH, autofire): both #10 repro pairs held ghost-free for
minutes (SYS09->SYS10 PPC, SYS02->SYS04 ERMed, SYS05->SYS06 Myomers); curves
draw with live cursors; one replot per activation; quad panels/J-K-L/sec
panel un-regressed.

arcattackandClaude Opus 4.8 171c993147 HUD: missile/AC weapon pips blink on fire again -- read authentic WeaponState (attr 0x1C)
Reported: the reticle's missile pips no longer momentarily disappear when
firing. Traced it: the pip's 'loaded' flag has read MechWeapon::rechargeLevel
(>= 0.999) since the reticle Execute was recovered (task #37). That's a port
APPROXIMATION of the binary's authentic attr 0x1C (WeaponState @0x350). It
works for emitters -- rechargeLevel is charge-driven and tops off at 1.0 when
Loaded -- but projectile weapons (MissileLauncher/autocannon) never write
rechargeLevel (it's authentically static at 1.0; the recharge DIAL draws full
and never moves). So a missile pip's 'loaded' was permanently true and the pip
never blinked. NOT an audio regression -- it never worked in the port; the
audio wave (ea85554) is actually what made the projectile fire-cycle state
(weaponAlarm Loaded/Loading/Firing) correct, i.e. the very signal the pip
should have been reading.

Fix (faithful to the binary): the pip now reads attr 0x1C = the weaponAlarm
StateIndicator level (new MechWeapon::WeaponStatePtr -> GaugeAlarm54::LevelPtr)
and compares it '== stateConst2' -- the loaded constant (2) the binary itself
already stores in AddWeapon (param_10). The state cycles
Loaded(2)<->Firing(0)/Loading(3)/Jammed(5) for BOTH weapon families, so every
pip momentarily drops on fire. The authentically-static rechargeLevel dial is
untouched.

Verified live (Blackhawk solo, BT_AUTOFIRE=1 BT_AF_MISSILE=1): both SRM6
missile pips toggle loaded 2<->0/5 on each salvo (emitter pips unchanged);
game boots + runs clean. KB: context/gauges-hud.md pip entry corrected.

arcattackandClaude Opus 4.8 38febae36b Rear-fire + look views (task #68): the pod's rear arsenal reconstructed
The user's tip ("some mechs actually do fire backward") checks out end to
end.  Binary ground truth [T1]:
- weapon+0x334 (attr 0x1B "RearFiring"): the ctor tests the MOUNT SEGMENT's
  page name for the marker 'b' (@0x511aa2, part_013.c:6913-6930) -- the back
  gun ports sitelbgunport/siterbgunport. The old reading ("EXT in the
  weapon model name") was a double misread (wrong string, wrong name).
- mech+0x410 (attr id 50 "RearFiring"; the old `stateFlags` label): the ctor
  ORs every weapon's flag (part_012.c:10220) -- "carries a rear arsenal".
- The mapper's five-state LOOK machine (part_013.c:396-459): on a state
  change it re-aims the eyepoint (mech+0x360 = EyepointRotation -- consumed
  by DPLEyeRenderable, already live in the port) and re-arms each weapon's
  viewFireEnable(+0x3E0): FORWARD view = the non-rear weapons, LOOK-BACK
  (yaw pi + lookBackAngle pitch) = the REAR-mounted ones, side/down = none.
  +0x3E0 is the same flag the emitter's Loaded->Firing gate reads (the old
  `useConfiguredPip` label) -- pips and fire permission both follow the view.

Port: rearFiring derived from the mount segment name (BTWeaponMountIsRear);
mech rearFiring ORed in the roster pass (the old SubProxy::IsDerivedFrom
stub returned 0 -- that loop never ran; now bridged through
BTWeaponIsRearFiring, which also fixes the weaponRoster fill); the look
commit is LIVE (BTCommitLookState: eyepoint EulerAngles from the authored
per-mech look angles -- now real members, were Wword scratch parks -- +
per-weapon view enables); MissileLauncher/ProjectileWeapon FireWeapon gate
on viewFireEnable like the emitter; RearFiring attrs (mech + weapon) bind
real members. Keyboard: HOLD 'V' = the pod's rear-view button.

Live-verified on the default blackhawk: ERMLaser_2 -> siterbgunport rear=1,
ERMLaser_3 -> sitelbgunport rear=1, PPCs/SRMs/torso mounts forward -- the
blackhawk authors TWO REAR LASERS (owens also has back ports). [rearfire]
trace under BT_PROJ_LOG.

arcattackandClaude Opus 4.8 cc2b109cc8 Audio Phase 4a (AUDIO_FIDELITY F6/F7): coolant-leak warning + missile alarm
F6 ReportLeak (the largest dead authored block -- 38 of 54 match watchers):
recovered the binary HeatSink attribute table (16-byte {id,name,off+1} rows
@0x50e438..0x50e4c8, ids 3..12) [T1] -- it confirms EVERY existing heat
binding (CurrentTemperature@0x114 .. CoolantMassLeakRate@0x130, HeatSink@
0x164) and adds the one row we never published: ReportLeak (id 12) ->
+0x138 = coolantActive, the INT leak hysteresis flag UpdateCoolant
(@004adbf8) drives 1/0 around draw 0.003/0.0025. PoweredSubsystem derives
from HeatSink, so the single row serves all 19 authored leak watchers
through the chained index, exactly like the binary. MechWeapon's pinned-id
pad absorbed the +1 chain shift (0x0E -> 0x0F, tripwire fired as designed).

F7 IncomingLock/DistanceToMissile (missile alarm): binary Mech table walked
in full (ids 21..56 [T1] -- also settles FootStep@0x394, CollisionSpeed@
0x4B4, UnstablePercentage@0x3F0, ReduceButton@0x340 for the next findings).
IncomingLock id 54 @0x3fc, DistanceToMissile id 56 @0x400; the old
"maxSpeed @0x400 = FLT_MAX" member was a MISREAD of the far default and is
retired (its 1000.0f "override" was RadarRange id 47 @0x404, already
published). Real members + accumulators: Missile::MoveAndCollide reports
target + range each tick (BTReportIncomingMissile bridge); PerformAndWatch
latches per frame. The authored beeper (match 1/0) + range->TEMPO scale
(100..800 -> 600..10, accelerating as the missile closes) read them
unchanged. Drive is intent-level [T3]; init 0/FLT_MAX matches the binary
reset (part_012.c:9446-9447).

Regression (30s): stable; ReportLeak binds real on every subsystem (0 pad
redirects); DistanceToMissile binds with FLT_MAX live; attrnull 41 -> 3.

arcattackandClaude Opus 4.8 fc7f311771 Audio Phase 1 (AUDIO_FIDELITY F3/F4/F10/F15/F18/F20 + KB): the quick wins
F3 distance: alDistanceModel(AL_NONE); restored the commented authored
  distance multiply in Dynamic3D::CalculateSourceVolumeScale, added the same
  override to Static3D, dropped the (now inert) AL_MAX_DISTANCE writes. Far
  battle audio follows the authored knee/rolloff curve again, and the volume
  cull / voice steal / ducking chains are distance-aware.
F4 volume law: AL_GAIN = volume_scale^2 at all 3 per-frame sites (Direct/
  Dyn3D/Static3D) -- the GM CC7 squared curve; linear was ~+6 dB at mids.
F10 doppler: alDopplerFactor(0) (AL's model ran wrong constants + sign-
  inverted velocity: approaching sources pitched DOWN); the AUTHORED
  dopplerCents (AUDIO.INI range/speed-of-sound model, decomp-proven consumer
  part_008.c:7466) now adds into the Dynamic3D pitch chain.
F15 ConfigureActivePress: published at the MechSubsystem BASE (binary id 2,
  descriptor @0x50de5c -> +0x110); renamed the misnamed vitalSubsystemIndex
  member (the weapon ConfigureMappables handler already drives it 0/-1).
  Removed the invented Sensor/Myomers duplicates and RESTORED their byte-
  exact layouts (0x328/0x358 allocs + asserts).  MechWeapon's pinned-id pad
  absorbed the +1 chain shift -- which matches the binary's own numbering.
F18 cook-off warning: AmmoBin FireCountdownStarted -> the existing
  cookOffArmed @0x18C (binary table @0x512600); the countdown klaxon can fire.
F20 zoom blip: L4MechControlsMapper publishes TargetRangeExponent -> the live
  @0x1a4 zoom member (own table chained to MechControlsMapper).
KB: replaced the bogus divisionParameters+0x10 rate read with
  SystemClock::GetTicksPerSecond() (FUN_0044e19c is GetFrameRate -- original
  audio frames were CLOCK TICKS).

Regression (35s drive+fire): stable; ConfigureActivePress binds real on all 9
subsystems (idle -1, zero pad redirects); FireCountdownStarted +
TargetRangeExponent bind live members; attrnull 53 -> 41; chirp still dead;
footfalls still fire (gain now correctly squared).

arcattackandClaude Fable 5 dd27238ceb Gauges: the CLOSEOUT wave -- radar pips, Myomers dedup, attribute parity, ledger sweep (tasks #14-#17)
TASK #17 -- AUTHENTIC RADAR SYMBOLOGY (the cross-blip stand-in retired).
The recon proved the 'missing pip raster set' never existed as BT game code:
pips are the ENGINE's L4GaugeImage vector-stroke system (T0 source in tree,
L4GAUIMA.cpp == FUN_0046f0c0 line-for-line), the 'pip table' is L4Warehouse::
gaugeImageBin keyed by Entity::resourceID, and BTL4.RES ships 110 type-0x12
shapes (every mech/vehicle/building/tree). The six btl4rdr stubs are wired
to the real facilities: contacts draw their authentic model silhouettes with
LOD selection, the target gets the binary's 4px-inflated box highlight, and
player-name labels resolve via Mission::GetSmallNameBitmap (the prebuilt
64x16 egg rasters keyed by the player's bitmapindex). DECODED: the invented
'VideoObject' was Entity::owningPlayer all along (+0x190; nameID =
playerBitmapIndex@0x1E0, target = BTPlayer::objectiveMech@0x284 -- new
bridge BTPlayerObjectiveMechOf); the 'LabelledEntity' class is Landmark
(cultural.h; label path dormant -- no landmark content ships, no runtime
landmarkID writer). The L4GREND BT_DEV_GAUGES warehouse guard is removed
(its AV had a different culprit, below); resource type 18 corrected to
GaugeImageStream in decomp-reference (was mislabeled 'ModelList').

TASK #14 -- the Myomers ODR duplicate ELIMINATED: the powersub.cpp/hpp
'Myomers' (classID 0xBC3 -- actually Sensor) is retired whole; it duplicated
?DefaultData@Myomers@@ against the real class (dumpbin-verified) and /FORCE
picked the winner by link order. The real Myomers (0xBC6) now chains
PoweredSubsystem's handler set (ids 4-8) and publishes its SEVEN binary
attributes (@00511588: SpeedEffect/Current/Recommended/Min/MaxSeekVoltage-
Index/SeekVoltage/OutputVoltage) -- the old empty unchained index starved
the Myomer engineering panel of every resolve.

TASK #16 -- attribute parity: MechWeapon publishes the FULL binary table
@0x511890 (11 entries; ids renumbered to binary truth -- the port aliases
had squatted the binary's DistanceToTarget/TargetWithinRange ids; the
streamed TriggerState 0x13 binding unchanged). Binary names resolved two
TODO members: pipState -> estimatedReadyTime (attr 0x1A), and the EXT-model
flag is the binary's RearFiring (0x1B). ThermalSight LightState published.
HUD (offset conflicts) + missile-side tables (id encoding suspect)
documented for a re-dump instead of publishing blind.
  THE CRASH THIS EXPOSED [T2, cdb-verified]: gotcha #11's dense-table gap
is a LATENT AV, not a guaranteed one -- the old table's 0x0D..0x12 gap
(task #5) survived on heap luck; the renumber reshuffled allocations and
Find() AV'd on a garbage entryName in WeaponCluster's PercentDone resolve.
Fixed with five named PAD entries (the mech.cpp attrPad idiom) + a
static_assert locking the pad base to PoweredSubsystem::NextAttributeID.
Gotcha #11 amended with the proof.

TASK #15 -- stale-ledger sweep: GAUGE_COMPOSITE ('composite not yet built',
Reservoir shadow, PlayerStatus/vehicleSubSystems 'remaining', valve-dormant-
until-0xBD3, sensor guard, the superseded 'Heat MFD near-static' reframe --
all banner-corrected), gauges-hud frontmatter, L4VB16 + powersub comments.

Verified live: 50/50 config attribute bindings resolve, 0 NULLs, 0 parse
skips, mech spawns and simulates 31/31 subsystems, no cross-blip fallbacks,
the pip cache fills through entity registration without the old guard.

arcattackandClaude Fable 5 d7b900d108 Cockpit: GENERATOR POWER ROUTING -- assign weapons to generators (task #12)
The pilot's second heat-management tool: the PoweredSubsystem message table
@0x50F4EC (ids 4-8) registered and implemented -- SelectGeneratorA-D
(@004b099c..@004b0a74: FindGeneratorByNumber roster walk on generatorNumber
@0x1E0 -> AttachToVoltageSource re-tap with tap accounting -> modeAlarm
Connected) and ToggleGeneratorMode (@004b0abc: Manual -> Auto -> detach+Manual
cycle). Weapons inherit via the MechWeapon handler chain. Desktop: F5-F8
assign the selected weapon (BT_CONFIG_SLOT) to Generator A-D, F9 toggles
reconnect mode; BT_GENSEL_TEST scripts a headless verify.

Verified live end-to-end: dispatch -> handler -> re-tap ("PPC_1 ->
GeneratorD (tapped)") -> the charging I^2R physically moved (GenD cold ~90K
baseline -> ~1570K carrying the PPC; GenA relieved), stable over a sustained
autofire soak with thermal-breaker trips.

FOUR defects found and fixed on the way [all T1/T2]:
- THE e17 HEAT EXPLOSION: Generator::SourceLevel misread *(this[0x38]+0x158)
  as linkedSinks->heatEnergy; it is the engine-base DamageZone @0xE0 ->
  damageLevel [0..1] (the same named-member pattern as the bank radiator's
  zone read).  A breaker-restarting generator emitted (1 - 4e8) x 10000
  volts; squared through the customers' I^2R feed, one restart blew the
  whole thermal network to e17. Authentic: a damaged generator yields
  proportionally less voltage.
- FUN_004ac9c8 is NOT "IsDamaged": raw body = owner -> mech+0x190 player ->
  roleClassIndex(+0x274) == 0 -- the ROOKIE-role lockout for advanced
  cockpit systems. New bridge BTPlayerRoleLocksAdvanced (NULL player =
  unlocked [T3]; bring-up role 2 = unlocked).  The old stand-in gated the
  handlers off permanently (healthy subsystems have simulationState==1).
- MESSAGE_ENTRY tables must be FUNCTION-LOCAL statics inside the accessor:
  as namespace-scope arrays they are read by other TUs' static-init chains
  before their own initializers run -- Build copies zeros and every id in
  the table is silently dropped (ids 9/10 only worked by TU-order luck;
  both tables relocated; gotcha recorded, reconstruction-gotchas #9).
- The AutoConnect hunt scanned GetSegment() -- the raw @004b0bd0 walks the
  subsystem ROSTER (+0x124/+0x128); EntitySegments were being cast to
  Subsystems (the classic +0x128 gotcha).

Also: the dense handler table's GAP slots (skipped ids) are uninitialized
heap -- the name-based Find strcmp-walks them and AVs; diagnostic probes use
the id-based Find only (the 1995 binary's own tables carry the same holes).

arcattackandClaude Fable 5 092408041c Cockpit: the CONFIG-MODE weapon-regrouping session + the live-play fire fixes (tasks #6+#11)
TASK #6 -- the pod's in-cockpit weapon regrouping, fully reconstructed and
live-verified (hold-configure -> tap fire button -> toggle membership ->
release-commit):
- MechWeapon handlers id 9 ConfigureMappables @004b9550 / id 10 ChooseButton
  @004b95b8 (binary table @0x511860; the old "Myomers fns" mislabel swept)
  + the GetMessageHandlers() accessor chain through Emitter/ProjectileWeapon/
  MissileLauncher/GAUSS/PPC (empty per-class sets swallowed dispatch).
- Mapper vtable truth: +0x38 EnterConfiguration / +0x3C ExitConfiguration /
  +0x40,+0x44 AddOrErase evt/dir. No "secondary vtable @0050f498", no
  "CreateTemporaryEventMappings" virtual (RP-name drift; swept incl CLASSMAP).
  L4 Enter/Exit rebuilt complete: StartMappableButtonsConfigure (the
  NonMapping 0x10000 <-> Mapping 0x8000 mode flip + the gauge's active-weapon
  latch) + the held-button re-arm + the 4 fire-button temp maps; only the RIO
  mapper implements the toggle (Thrustmaster no-ops = can't regroup).
- MechSubsystem +0xE8/+0xEC corrected to controlDestination/controlMessageID
  (ex hostEntity/subsystemId2 mislabel); MechWeapon ctor defaults the
  destination to &fireImpulse (@004b99a8).
- ConfigMapGauge state loop reconstructed (PE-recovered DAT_00518eb4 table;
  buttonGroup GetMapState sampler -- the "needs ModeManager" guard rationale
  was wrong). Finding [T1]: the shipped binary NEVER enables this gauge (no
  SetColor caller) -- authentically dormant; BT_CONFIGMAP=1 is the dev enable.
- Dev harness: HOLD 'G' opens the session (BT_CONFIG_SLOT picks the weapon);
  BT_CONFIG_TEST scripts a headless verify. @004afbc4 corrected to its real
  Fail-trap body (the guessed AddOrErase(NULL) body would corrupt groups).
- Bonus [T1]: the binary MechWeapon ATTRIBUTE table has ELEVEN entries
  (PercentDone..WeaponState) -- "TriggerState is the only one" was wrong.

TASK #11 -- the user-reported live-play regressions (both real bugs):
- PHANTOM FIRE: the mech4 bring-up shot block painted an explosion at the
  victim on its OWN 0.3s cadence whenever fire was held -- desynced once the
  authentic recharges landed. Retired (the real impact visual flows from
  each discharge via the messmgr SubmitExplosion).
- WEAPON BRICKING (the "cuts out" bug): the Loading->Loaded snap window
  (+-0.01 around seekV) assumes the pod's LOCKED 60 fps; one port dt-spike
  jumps it, the byte-verified >1.0 clamp (_DAT_004ba830=0) zeroes readiness,
  and the weapon sticks in Loading at level ~10000 forever (observed live).
  Fixed with pod-frame (1/60s) sub-stepping of the binary's own Loading tick
  -- also fixes the I^2R integral over-heating generators on big steps.
  NEW GOTCHA CLASS recorded: reconstruction-gotchas #12 (frame-pacing trap).
- Duty-cycle measured (max-rate autofire): generators equilibrate in the
  degradation band (recharge stretch ~3.5-4.4x), the FailureHeat breaker
  never trips solo, PPCs sustain ~11.8-damage full-charge fire. The slow
  kill pacing and recharge gaps are the AUTHENTIC heat economy; the pilot's

arcattackandClaude Fable 5 fd055281a8 Combat: THE AUTHENTIC DAMAGE ECONOMY -- authored per-weapon amounts through the real fire chain (task #8)
Three root causes, all fixed:
1. kDamageScale was 1.0 -- _DAT_004bafbc is an x87 float80 = 1e-7, cancelling
   the ctor's x1e7: damagePortion = authored DamageAmount x (charge/seekV)^2
   (closed form at fire time; madcat AC=25/LRM=50/ERLL=6, bhk1 PPC=12/SRM=35).
   The observed "0.25" was the degenerate EC=1 fallback, never authored data.
2. CheckFireEdge NaN latch: TriggerState carries ControlsButton INTS; the
   release value (-65) is a negative NaN. The binary's x87 unordered compare
   read it as "released"; IEEE-correct float compares latched the edge
   detector shut after the first release -- the reason the emitter discharge
   chain NEVER fired in-game. Fixed with bit-pattern sign compares.
3. The weapon-side submission LIVE: Emitter::FireWeapon fills damageData
   (amount + damageForce=target-muzzle [the gyro directional-bounce feed] +
   impact) -> MechWeapon::SendDamageMessage (@004b9728 real body) ->
   messmgr consolidation with per-weapon records + explosion bundling.
   The mech4 bring-up damage block + flat kShotDamage retired to diag hooks.
Bonus: LODReuseHysteresis 0.82 -> 0.33 (double misread). Zone model
verified byte-exact (no change). Solo end-to-end: 5-record volleys (2 PPC
+ 3 ERML with authored amounts), per-weapon zone granularity, explosions,
kill. Heat stays bring-up scale pending the heat-calibration audit [T3].

arcattackandClaude Fable 5 77190c93e5 Combat: the AUTHENTIC consolidated damage delivery -- TakeDamageStream through the message manager (task #7 tail)
ConsolidateAndSendDamage @0049b784 fully implemented: the beam path submits
into AddDamageMessage; each messmgr tick builds ONE Entity::
TakeDamageStreamMessage (id 0x13; wire-verified 0x34+4+Nx12) with the
common impact record + appended {type, amount, subsystemID} entries and
Dispatches it at the victim -- the T0 handler (ENTITY.cpp:817) re-splits
into per-record TakeDamage; replicants reroute cross-pod. Real
ResolveExplosionID (firing weapon's +0x3E4, guarded) + SubmitExplosion via
the Explosion::Make port; TWO chain-purge bugs fixed (the "iterator dtor
clears it" assumption was wrong -- records re-applied every tick, observed
1->2->3->4 double-counting).  @004b9728 identity corrected (SendDamageMessage,
not DrawWeaponPip). Verified solo: 25 clean single-record consolidations ->
kill -> death transition. Residue: weapon-side submission awaits the
damage-economy reconciliation (authored 0.25-scale vs kShotDamage=12).

arcattackandClaude Fable 5 8ed6184d65 Combat: AUTHENTIC weapon groups -- streamed per-mech button bindings + the real fire chain (task #5)
The recovered system: fire channels = LBE4ControlsManager buttonGroups
(0x40/0x45/0x46/0x47); default groups = the per-mech type-6 controls-map
resource in BTL4.RES, installed by the T0 CreateStreamedMappings the port
already called -- it needed only the TriggerState attribute (id 0x13 PINNED
to the binary value; fireImpulse@0x31C is the binary's TriggerState) and an
input feed. Keyboard/harness now push press/release edges into the button
groups; the gBT*Trigger bypasses, per-type keyboard split and 1,0 pulse
hack are retired -- weapons sharing a button fire TOGETHER (madcat Trigger
= 4 weapons). Myomers @4b9550/@4b95b8 misattribution corrected (they are
MechWeapon ConfigureMappables/ChooseButton). Verified 2-node: kill through
the authentic chain (12 hits vs ~36 pre-groups). Config-mode session
(regrouping UI) = the remaining stage, KB-scoped.

arcattackandClaude Fable 5 29035028fd Cross-pod beams: replicate emitter discharge via subsystem update records
User report: lasers only visible on the window firing them. The peer's
replicant emitters never learned the master fired.

THE AUTHENTIC PIPE (decomp-verified):
- FUN_0041c350 (the "beam keepalive" ServiceDischarge/ContinueDischarge call)
  does TWO things: queue the LOCAL deferred beam-effect callback (@0x4bac0c)
  on the app+0x34 manager -- our per-weapon render walk already plays that
  role -- and set the subsystem DIRTY bit, which maps to the 2007 engine's
  updateModel / ForceUpdate().
- Replication rides SUBSYSTEM UPDATE RECORDS inside the mech's update message:
  the roster walk already hands the entity's stream to every subsystem's
  PerformAndWatch; Simulation::WriteSimulationUpdate serializes each requested
  updateModel bit; Entity::UpdateMessageHandler routes received records by
  subsystemID to the subsystem's ReadUpdateRecord. All engine machinery --
  the missing pieces were the Emitter's serialize/apply pair + the triggers.

CORRECTIONS to the dormant task-33-era transcriptions (never exercised --
nothing ever set updateModel -- so the latent misreads never surfaced):
- The weapon-family VTABLE SLOT MAP was swapped: slot 6 = ReadUpdateRecord,
  7 = WriteUpdateRecord, 9 = TakeDamage (evidence: Mech hierarchy symmetry +
  body semantics; @004ba568 resolves an EntityID at rec+0x30 through the
  entity index -- record semantics, not Damage). Renamed across MechWeapon /
  Emitter / ProjectileWeapon; the real Emitter::TakeDamage @004bafc8 is
  undecoded (inherits MechWeapon for now).
- Emitter/MechWeapon Write: `*record = 0x38/0x18` is the record LENGTH, not
  recordID; rec+0x30 is the TARGET's EntityID (GetEntityID()), not a colour --
  the old `CopyColor(targetEntity+0x184)` was also a databinding trap.
- OVERRIDE-SIGNATURE TRAP: the decls used each class's own shadowing
  UpdateRecord typedef as the param type, silently NOT overriding the engine
  virtual (the base ran instead; nothing would ever have serialized).
  Base-typed params (Simulation__UpdateRecord*), casts inside.
- Emitter::ReadUpdateRecord reconstructed (@004ba568): target EntityID resolve
  (drop unknown non-null targets), MechWeapon alarm apply chain, beam fields.
- ServiceDischarge/ContinueDischarge: ForceUpdate() per keepalive tick + one
  final record at beam end (turns the peer's beam off).
- Mech::DrawWeaponBeams extracted from the player-only drive block so the walk
  runs for REPLICANTS (+ per-mech gun-port cache -- the process-wide statics
  would have served the player's segment pointers as the replicant's muzzles).

VERIFIED 2-node: A fires 57 volleys -> 225 emitter records -> B applies all
225 -> B draws 414 beams (PPC blue / laser red, from A's replicant's own gun
ports). Solo un-regressed (150 beams, kill chain, no crash).

Also preserved: the full Mech::WriteUpdateRecord @0x4a0c2c recovery
(reference/decomp/mech_writeupdate_004a0c2c.disasm.txt) with all 9 record
types decoded (pose/alarm/leg-state+heat with the body-channel write-through
re-sync, knockdown, death, impact, movementMode) -- transcription deferred;
it replicates remote knockdown/death/heat and was not needed for beams.

arcattackandClaude Fable 5 18d49491b7 Reticle Execute @004cdcf0 RECOVERED: every HUD instrument now live (task #37)
The one un-exported gap in the reticle chain, read via capstone
(tools/disas2.py; the annotated disasm preserved at
reference/decomp/reticle_execute_004cdcf0.disasm.txt). Draw() is now a
transcription of the real per-frame logic, and the HUD attr-table names
(hud.hpp ids 4/5/6/8/A/B/C/D) are CONFIRMED by their Execute usage:

- Range ladder: BAR from ladder-top to the caret + caret translate.
- The bottom 21-tick tape is the TORSO-TWIST indicator (NOT heading):
  deflection = -/+(span/2) x (RotationOfTorsoHorizontal / twist limit),
  attrs 4/5/6. Fixed-torso BLH reads centred -- authentic static.
- The circle-with-stem is the COMPASS (attr 0xD, rad->deg rotation) at
  (botX, botY - 3*tickMajor - 0.03), with the THREAT trail (attr 0xC)
  in its rotated frame: 0.05-unit attack-direction marks, fresh < 2s
  red, expiring at 6s. Port feed: player TakeDamage pushes the impact
  direction (dormant vs the passive test dummy).
- Pips (composed into subB6): hidden when destroyed (attr 1 == 1), LIT
  when the fire cycle is LOADED (attr 0x1c == 2; port source
  rechargeLevel >= 1) else the dark charging ring; filtered by the
  weapon-GROUP bits (weaponMode & elementMask&0xF). Range plays NO part
  (the stored TargetWithinRange slots are never read by Execute).
- Lock ring: subB9 at frame centre SPINNING 4 deg/frame while locked
  ([0x9d] is the spin matrix, not a heading list).
- Target HOTBOX: a rectangle hugging the projected extents (x+-4 around
  the top-centre hotbox point, +1/-11.5 vertical; baked K=2.8145 -- the
  port projects through the live per-axis projection), switching to the
  edge arrows past +-1.6 or behind (BTProjectHotBox, L4VIDEO).
- Reticle state Off/On + PrimaryHudOn full-HUD/simple-X switch, aim
  translate on slew move, 3D marker + PNAME player-name mesh identified
  (chain still deferred).

arcattackandClaude Fable 5 48b17750e5 HUD reticle + weapon pips LIVE: dpl2d 2D display-list port (task #35)
- dpl2d API fully recovered from the binary recorders (@487f34-488630):
  opcode model (points/lines/polyline/circle/color/width/matrix/push-pop),
  CallList = INLINE include (state persists to caller), centered coordinate
  frame (unit = half viewport height). game/reconstructed/dpl2d.cpp rework.
- BTReticleRenderable ctor @004cc40c transcribed with the authentic
  calibration (originX .35, originY .25, scaleY .5, 0..1200m right range
  ladder, bottom heading tape, FUN_004cd938 tick ladders, lock rings,
  turn arrows); range caret slides from the live target range fed by the
  mech4 targeting step (BTSetHudTargetRange).
- Weapon pips: the binary gate is IsDerivedFrom(0x511830 =
  MechWeapon::ClassDerivations) [T1: part_014.c:5386 hard-aborts on missing
  weapon attrs; part_012 counts + roster ORs capabilityFlags@+0x334] so ALL
  7 BLH weapons register (3 lasers + 2 PPCs + 2 MissileLaunchers). Pip A
  (lit, authored PipColor) on TargetWithinRange, else dark ring B.
- AddWeapon @004cdac0 store map corrected to the verified order
  (part_014.c:4827-4837); both state attrs are literally named
  "SimulationState" (strings @51d526/51d577) -> weapon simulationState.
- Mech roster this[0x1ef] renamed poweredSubsystems -> weaponRoster
  (0x511830 is MechWeapon, not PoweredSubsystem=0x50f4bc); derivation-tag
  table added to context/decomp-reference.md.
- Draw hook BTDrawReticle after the 3D scene, cockpit view only. Binary
  Execute @004cdcf0 is an un-exported gap -> Draw dynamics [T3], tracked
  in context/open-questions.md with the blx_cop canopy + PNAME pip meshes.

arcattackandClaude Fable 5 2036e7da51 Per-weapon beams from the REAL Emitter sim state (authentic per-mech fire)
The visible beams now come from each weapon's own live state instead of the
hardcoded single-look stagger: FireWeapon arms beamFlag + dischargeTimer (the
weapon's authored DischargeTime), ServiceDischarge ends the window, recharge
gates cadence -- so volley-vs-stagger patterns, cadence and colours all emerge
from each mech's real loadout (BLH: 3 lasers + 2 PPCs). Per weapon: live
muzzle (its own mount; gun-port ordinal fallback when the mount doesn't
resolve -- GetMuzzlePoint returns the feet otherwise), the fire's stored world
endpoint, and the authored PipColor (lasers red 1,0,0 / PPC blue 0,0,1
straight from the .SUB data). PPC draws as a thicker, brighter bolt.

Filter is by EXACT classID (Emitter 3016 / PPC 3028) -- the derivation check
matched shared recon-stub chains (a Sensor and the MissileLauncher passed and
drew garbage beams from misinterpreted offsets).

The target slot (MECH_TARGET_POS) now carries the TORSO aim point (all
consumers -- beam endpoints, missiles, reticle -- want center-mass, not the
ground between the feet); the projectile fallback lift moved to match.

Accessors: Emitter::BeamOn/BeamEndpoint, MechWeapon::MuzzlePoint/PipColor.
BT_BEAM_LOG=1 samples the live per-weapon beam state.

Verified: [beam] PPC mz=(...,4.49,...) end=(...,7,...) rgb=(0,0,1) -- gun-port
muzzles, torso endpoints, authored colours; kill chain intact (10 hits).

arcattackandClaude Opus 4.8 070af409f7 gauge wave P1a: publish heat/power/weapon attributes + radar zoom
The gauge-databinding-map workflow found most cockpit gauges resolve NULL
because the reconstructed subsystems publish only a fraction of the attributes
the config binds. First publishing batch (attribute tables are read-only static
data; ids kept a dense prefix from each parent's NextAttributeID):

- HeatSink table dense-append: DegradationTemperature/FailureTemperature (the
  condenser temp-bar warn/max endpoints -- were NULL, so the two-part bars could
  not scale), NormalizedPressure/DegradationPressure/CoolantMassLeakRate, and the
  HeatSink link. Condenser/Reservoir inherit this -> all 6 condenser temp bars
  now resolve current/warn/max (verified: BT_GAUGE_ATTR_LOG all OK).
- PoweredSubsystem::GetAttributeIndex() (new) publishes InputVoltage->voltageSource
  -- the cluster power-branch gate (the power-lamp/generator-voltage/state-lamp
  sub-branch is skipped when it resolves NULL). Flows to Sensor/Myomers/weapons.
- MechWeapon::GetAttributeIndex() (new) publishes OutputVoltage/PercentDone->
  rechargeLevel; Emitter/PPC/ProjectileWeapon/MissileLauncher/GaussRifle DefaultData
  re-pointed at it (they carried an EMPTY default-constructed index -> resolved
  NOTHING). Verified: the ER MED LASER / PPC / STREAK weapon clusters now render
  live recharge dials (were blank TEMP/STATUS).
- Mech::SetTargetRange un-stubbed (radarRange = range) -> the radar map scale +
  overlay range readout track the mapper's zoom (was frozen at 1000).
- GAUGREND ParseAttribute: env-gated per-binding resolution trace (BT_GAUGE_ATTR_LOG)
  -- durable diagnostic infra for the wave.

Verified DBASE+dev gauges: no startup/gauge-construction crash (dense chain intact),
combat un-regressed (TARGET DESTROYED), clusters build with InputVoltage resolving.
Remaining config-binding NULLs: HeatSink/AmbientTemperature (aggregate bank, P3) +
Searchlight/LightOn (P1b).

arcattackandClaude Opus 4.8 9d82be46a1 P7: subsystem-tree alarm unification -- the whole PoweredSubsystem weapon/power subtree is byte-exact
The reconstruction modeled the binary's 0x54 AlarmIndicator (FUN_0041b9ec) with undersized
stand-ins (AlarmIndicator==ReconAlarm==4B; HeatAlarm==8B) across the entire subsystem tree, so
every field above an alarm sat at the wrong compiled offset. Retype every such stand-in to
GaugeAlarm54(0x54) and de-phantom each class against its ctor, so the whole PoweredSubsystem
subtree becomes byte-exact. An 8-agent read-only decomp-mapping workflow decoded every ctor
first; then hands-on implementation. static_assert-locked chain (verified vs the raw ctors):

  HeatSink 0x1D0
   -> PoweredSubsystem 0x31C   retype electricalStateAlarm@0x264 + modeAlarm@0x2B8   @004b0f74
   -> MechWeapon      0x3F0   retype weaponAlarm@0x350; delete 5 phantom tail fields  @004b99a8
   -> Emitter         0x478   delete outputVoltage/beamLengthRatio/firingArmed aliases
                              + beamHit*/beamColor/beamHitData/energyRampTime phantoms;
                              retype beamOrientation EulerAngles->Quaternion(16B)       @004bb120
   -> PPC             0x478   (no own fields)                                           @004bb888
  PoweredSubsystem -> Sensor 0x328 (no alarm; 3 own fields) @004b1d18
  PoweredSubsystem -> Myomers 0x358   (no alarm)                                        @004b8fec

New systemic bug-class instances fixed (added to the CLAUDE.md checklist):
  * alias field    - Emitter outputVoltage==inherited rechargeLevel@0x320; beamLengthRatio==
                     beamScale.z@0x434; firingArmed==inherited useConfiguredPip@0x3E0
  * phantom field  - MechWeapon segmentReference/pipSegment/hasTarget/targetPoint/muzzlePoint
                     (past 0x3F0); Emitter beamHitPoint/beamImpact/beamImpactScalar/beamColor/
                     beamHitData/energyRampTime (binary writes inherited damageData/voltageScale
                     or the value is a method local)

Non-layout fixes required in the same wave:
  * outputVoltage->rechargeLevel also in the compiled GAUSS.CPP:74/93 (external readers of the
    removed Emitter field -- must grep EVERY TU, not just the class's own .cpp)
  * MechWeapon::GetMuzzlePoint reimplemented faithfully (removed muzzlePoint collided with
    Emitter's own fields at 0x3F0) via a BTResolveWeaponMuzzle void* bridge in mech4.cpp,
    resolving the weapon's mount segment (inherited this+0xdc) through the owner segment table
  * DetachFromVoltageSource fixed to set electricalStateAlarm not modeAlarm (raw @004b0e30
    writes the 0x264 alarm)

The vehicleSubSystems aux-screen gauge raw reads (btl4gau2.cpp:868/952 at subsystem+0x2b8/+0x278)
and the Sensor RadarPercent path now read the CORRECT byte offsets (garbage under the short layout).

Verified: combat DESTROYED-in-8, 28 shots, 0 crashes, heat heatEnergy=1.34e7, every static_assert
lock passes, heapcheck-clean through construction (the phase the isolated PoweredSubsystem retype
had overflowed). LESSON: a factory-bridge runtime Check(sizeof<=alloc) does NOT fail the build --
only a static_assert sizeof lock catches alloc overflow at compile time.

Clean, self-contained extraction of the BattleTech-specific work from the
reverse-engineering workspace -- engine + game + content + build, with nothing
from Red Planet or the raw archive dumps. Builds green (Win32) and runs the
single-player drive->animate->target->fire->damage->destroy loop out of the box.

Layout:
  engine/   MUNGA + MUNGA_L4 shared 2007 engine, carrying our BT render/loader
            work (bgfload/L4D3D/L4VIDEO: BSL bit-slice decode, LOD/ground/shadow
            models) + image codec; the minimal rp/ headers the audio HAL needs
  game/ reconstructed BT logic + surviving-original BT source + fwd shims
            + WinMain launcher
  content/  full runtime tree (BTL4.RES, VIDEO/, GAUGE/, AUDIO/, eggs, BTDPL.INI)
  docs/ format specs + reconstruction ledgers
  reference/ raw Ghidra pseudocode (recon source-of-truth) + decomp exporter
